Day 1: Yes He Can

“Did He move every mountain? Did He part every sea? Yes, He did. So, yes, He can!”

Take a few seconds and think about all the incredible miracles God did in the Bible.  Around your group, just quickly call out some of God’s miracles that you know of from the Bible.

Yes, God moved mountains, parted the Red Sea – not to mention He created the world from nothing. Jesus turned water into wine AND raised dead people back to life! The Bible is full of so many amazing stories of God’s power working in people’s lives. And the same God that did these amazing miracle doesn’t change: God doesn’t change- Malachi 3:6 I am the Lord, and I do not change. Jesus doesn’t change either: Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

But here’s the part that we often forget – these are more than just stories. God is STILL doing miracles today! The living and active God of the Bible is the same God that we worship every Sunday in church. He’s the same God we pray to when we’re alone in our bedrooms. It’s the same God we can cry out to when our hearts are broken.

And when we pray to Him and read His Word, we remember what God has done and everything He can still do. In the Bible, God reminds us of his power all the time. He points back and says, “Remember, I’m the God who let you out of Egypt, who saved your people and who delivered you.” (Dt 5:6)

Why do we need all the reminders? Because when we remember God’s faithfulness, it naturally builds our faith. A great way to build your faith for your future is to look back and remember what God has done. Ps 77:11-12 But then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember Your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about Your mighty works.

So let’s do that together right now! Take a minute to look back and remember what God did already: Did He wake you up this morning? Did He provide for your basic needs? Did He help you through a tough time? Did God ever heal your body? Did He get you through an impossible situation? Did He free a friend of yours or a family member from addiction or bondage? What other miraculous things has God done in your life?

Be reminded and encouraged today that God can show up ANYWHERE at any time. In whatever circumstance you’re dealing with, remember that if He did, He can and He will!

If you’ve ever wondered if God could do a miracle through you, the answer is “Yes, He Can!” Because we have the Holy Spirit, God can use us to meet needs and be a miracle for other people too!  When you let God use you, you can be a blessing in someone else’s life. It all starts with being in tune with hearing His voice and what He’s saying, being aware of others’ needs and being available to help them. Phil 2:4 says: Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

Today’s Challenge: Will you make yourself aware and available? Will you let God use you to be part of His miracle plan for someone else’s life?

Prayer: Thank You God. You are the source of miracles and You never change! Your faithfulness & mercy are always available. Help us remember all that You’ve done in times past. Help us to trust You now and in the future. Use us, O Lord, for Your Kingdom purposes today. We love You Lord for who You are, what You’ve done, and all You will do. We pray all this in Jesus’ precious Name, Amen.

Day 2: Yes, He Can!

“Sometimes those voices try to tell me I’m forgotten, and I’ve fallen too far from His hands”

Did you know that you talk to yourself? It’s usually not out loud, it’s in our own head.  Every day, whether we realize it or not, we’re telling ourselves things about ourselves, life, God, and our experiences.

In fact, the Bible tells us that one of the biggest things we as believers have to overcome is not other people, it’s our own mind!

We know that our hearts and minds can be deceitful and wicked. (Jer 17:9 [EASY] A person’s own mind deceives him or her, more than anything else does. Nobody can change it to be better. Nobody completely understands it.”). And we can’t always trust our feelings, because they can change in an instant based on so many random factors. And let’s face it, our thoughts aren’t always 100-percent focused on things that are true, noble, right, or pure (Phil 4:8).

That’s because the voice of the deceiver (the devil) can get in our heads & undermine our minds. And let me tell you – the devil LOVES to tell us that we’re forgotten by God or too far gone. The devil wants us to give up, to think that we’ve fallen too far away from God’s hand & His love.

But our God is Lord of all, including our thoughts and our minds. We can be certain of who God is and that He can do anything. We can TRUST every single one of God’s promises. Because He is the Truth, everything He has promised is true. God is our everlasting Father, He’s a miracle worker, and He’s totally faithful! So is God bigger than our thoughts? Yes, He is! Can He do anything? “Yes, He can!” No matter what today brings or what tomorrow holds.

So the next time you hear that voice of negativity or doubt, root yourself in what is TRUE. Root yourself in Jesus, who is The Way, The Truth and The Life! (John 14:6). Focus your thoughts on Jesus & let Him be Lord over your mind and thoughts.  Phil 4:8bFix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Believe me, you will be glad that you did all this!

Let’s live out this verse: 1Thes 5:11 So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

Today’s  Challenge: Let’s lift each other up and encourage each other. Take notice of your fellow campers, work site crewmembers & people you’re serving.

Prayer: Thank You God for being the Lord of all, even the Lord over our hearts, minds and thoughts. We need You Lord. Protect us from the lies and attacks of the evil one. Use us today and everyday to be an encouragement to those around us. We love You and praise Your Holy Name!. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

Day 3: Yes, He Can

“I can’t deny He’s come through every single time”

God is in charge of a lot of big things: stars, planets, weather, seasons, ecosystems, the oceans, plants, animals, and everything else in this world. He’s God and it’s a really big world. God has a lot of problems and issues to deal with. But beyond these giant issues, God is also concerned with the small things, the details.

Check out what Jesus said in Mt 10:29Two sparrows cost only a penny, but not even one of them can die without your Father’s knowing it. Whoa! Those are some serious details: God knows when a single sparrow dies! In another passage about birds, Jesus said this; “Look at the birds in the air. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them. And you know that you are worth much more than the birds” (Mt 6:26). Yes, God is God of the details, including the details of a single bird’s life.

So if God cares for the details of a single bird’s life, He cares for the details of your life much, much more:  Check out what Jesus said in Mt 10:30-31 to prove this point about God being faithful in the details: “God even knows how many hairs are on your head. So don’t be afraid. You are worth much more than many sparrows.” God is concerned for the details of your life and He’s fulfilled promise after promise after promise in regards to them.

And if God was faithful in the past, if He did miraculous things, then He can and He will do it again. Josh 23:14b Deep in your hearts you know that every promise of the Lord your God has come true. Not a single one has failed. Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t always need a mountain moved or a sea parted. Sometimes, I just need to know that God is there in the small things. ! I can say from experience that He has come through every time I’ve called out to Him. Even when He didn’t answer the way I wanted Him to, He always did what was best, because that’s who He is. Can God do miracles in the little things in our life? Yes, He can. If He’s done it once, you can trust that He will do it again.

We all need reminders that His power is still available, even in our moments of weakness. If you want to build your faith, this is a great place to start. Today, place your trust in God with the small things you’re facing – whether it’s dealing with outside working conditions, fixing a strained relationship with someone at camp, or dealing with the not being at home for a few days. Welcome God into the little things, by leaning on and memorizing His promises.

Maybe it’s getting somebody who’s thirsty a bottle of water. Or maybe it’s cleaning up a mess that you notice. Maybe it’s taking time to talk to a homeowner or other person that you encounter who’s lonely.

Today’s  Challenge: Look for a small detail in a situation where you can be a blessing.

PrayerThank you God for always being concerned for us personally and in the small details in our lives. Thank You that every day You’re doing miracles, even in the little things. Lord, today we pray that you would increase our faith. Remind us that there is NOTHING you can’t do, and help us live like we believe it! Amen.

Day 4:  Yes He Can!

“Sometimes I wonder, is He faithful? Does He see me in my trouble? Does He understand?”

Let’s face it – sometimes God can seem distant or detached from us. Yes, we believe in Him and we know He’s almighty. We know that He made everything and He’s running the whole universe. But in times of mental stress, disappointment, loss, or failure, we can begin to wonder, “Does God really care about me? Do I really matter to Him? Is He too busy for me and my cares, struggles, and troubles? Does God have me & is He going to come through for me?” We can sometimes begin to feel small, unnoticed or insignificant to God. We can sometimes doubt God and His faithfulness.

Sadly, this kind of thinking can lead us in a very bad direction and to a dark place that the enemy wants us to be in. See, the Devil wants to separate you from God, rob you of your hope, kill your faith, and ultimately destroy you (John 10:10a).

David, described in the Bible as a “man after God’s own heart,” felt this way too sometimes. In Psalm 109:1, in a moment of doubt and desperation, David cried out, “O God, whom I praise, don’t stand silent and aloof.” (Note: ‘Aloof’ means distant, separated or detached.)

But David never remained stuck in these kind of thoughts about God. David knew God, and he knew that God knew Him and cared immensely about him. David knew that God would come through for him (think about David’s encounter with Goliath!) In Psalm 139, David acknowledged that God created him in an amazing and unique way. David also said this in Psalm 139:17-18: “How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, You are still with me!

Listen to David’s testimony about God’s faithfulness in Psalm 40:1-3: “I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what He has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.”

Yes, God thought about David a lot and God came through for David. And God thinks about you just as much too. And He will come through for you in His way and in His time too. Here’s the truth: God made you, knows you, cares for you and loves you (Ps 139:1-16; Mt 10:30; John 16:27). Check out God’s Word in these two verses

1Thes 1:4 says We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be His own people

1Pt 5:7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.

Maybe you need to hear this message today. If so, please know and believe that God is 100-percent faithful and He absolutely has you in His heart and in His mind!

But maybe you don’t struggle in these areas about God. Praise God for that! But guess what? There are many people that do struggle with feeling alone, separated from God or outside of God’s love and His care. God can use you to encourage them, care for them, love them and tell them His truth. You can be part of God’s action plan for their life.

Let’s live out this verse today: Eph 4:32…be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

Today’s Challenge: Be ready to let the people you encounter know that God loves them and He’s faithful.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for always having us in your sight. You are our constant comfort in the struggles of life. Help us to remember that you are always with us. Give us boldness to speak of your love to the people we encounter today.

Day 5: Yes He Can

“Did He defeat the darkness? Did He deliver me? Yes, He did. So, yes, He can.”

When we read the Bible, we see God doing amazing miracles in and through His Creation:

  • In the beginning, God created the heavens, the Earth and everything in it out of nothing (Gen 1).
  • He parted the Red Sea for the people of Israel to escape slavery in Egypt (Ex 14).
  • Jesus calmed on water and then calmed the storm that threatened His disciples (Mt 14).
  • And many more!

But the greatest miracle of all was when Jesus, the Son of God was sacrificed in our place, killed on a cross by the humans He had created, and then defeated death by rising from the dead! Jesus’ resurrection was the first of many. Now, we don’t have to fear death; Jesus overcame sin and darkness so that we can experience eternal life through Him!

The miracle of Jesus’ resurrection can change our eternal lives, but it can also change our lives here and now. When you put your hope in Jesus, you allow Him to enter your life and change things around. As you say “yes” to Jesus, your heart, mind, decisions and future begin to change in amazing ways!

One of the greatest ways that we can celebrate the miracle of Jesus’ resurrection is by testifying to the world about Him! By remembering what He did on the cross and experiencing His life in our hearts today, we can show the world what God’s love looks like. Your testimony – how Jesus found you, saved you, and is transforming you – is SO powerful. Your experience can help others find Him and be saved!

So this week, recognize that the greatest miracle ever is happening in your heart! Jesus is shaping you, making you more like Himself, and guiding you toward a future of true impact. The story that Jesus is writing with you is worth sharing with the world. Use your words, actions and life to tell others about all that Jesus has done (and is doing) in your life!

1 John 1:3 We are telling you what we have seen and heard, so you may share in this life with us. And we share in it with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

Today’s Challenge: Tell someone about how you’ve personally experienced Jesus – whether in a big way or a seemingly small way.

Prayer: God, we praise you for the amazing things you have done. Thank you for giving us another chance and changing our hearts! Help us to remember and testify boldly about the miracle of your love. Give us strength today to praise you at all times!
